User Experience (UX) Interaction Design

User Interface (UI) Design

Lead UX Architect

JUN 2021 – PRESENT

  • Led the UX strategy and interaction design across multiple software projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing user-centered solutions to enhance product experiences.

  • Designed and optimized user flows, task flows, information architecture, wireframes (both low-fidelity and high-fidelity), and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications.

  • Implemented a structured UX process that significantly improved coordination between UX, Product, and Development teams.

  • Developed a UX requirements documentation framework, which is now adopted across all Cox Automotive UX release trains, serving as a single source of truth for reviews and planning.

  • Designed and launched the DesignOps framework, optimizing project intake, role, and task alignment, problem definition, goal setting, and success metrics tracking to enhance team efficiency and accountability.

  • Encouraged open collaboration through design sprints, workshops, and cross-functional discussions, which optimized processes and integrated innovative technologies.

  • Led UX and UI design for vehicle software development in 2023 and 2024, ensuring a seamless user experience.

  • Mentored design teams on interaction, usability, and visual consistency to enhance product quality. Developed the "In-depth Analysis" framework to bridge gaps between design specs and final implementation.

Led the design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of features for the Settings application in 2022-2024 vehicles.

V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything solution):

Allows vehicles to communicate with and surrounding infrastructure, creating a fully integrated and intelligent traffic system. This communication protocol is a strategic innovation to increase safety, reduce congestion, and prevent collisions. These include road works warnings, traffic jam ahead, emergency electronic brake lights, emergency vehicle warnings, intersection collision warnings, the stationary vehicle ahead, and hazard location warnings.

 

​Integration of Google Settings into GM Infotainment Systems:

Integrating select Google technology and services into vehicle infotainment systems will foster a more connected and efficient driving experience. Customers using Google Android Auto will no longer need to connect their phones with a USB cable. Drivers will have access to Google's applications through their vehicle and will be able to make phone calls, text, and listen to radio stations, as GM's system currently offers. Still, they'll also be able to connect to their homes with smart speakers and other devices.

 

​Redesign of ambient lighting user experience and interface for vehicles of 2023 and beyond:

Ambient Lighting uses discreet LED light guides to accent interior design cues and set a mood in a vehicle's cabin. Users can set the desired interior color by ascending through the Vehicle Settings app.

 

Conversation enhancement user experience redesign for 2023 and beyond:

For those times when the driver wants to communicate with the passengers, there is a conversation enhancement system, which uses AKG microphones and speakers for communication with the front and rear passengers. The microphones pick up nearby voices and transmit them through the speakers so that fellow travelers don't have to shout.

XML Lead & UX Designer

  • Led XML implementation and QA for key applications, including Cluster, Settings, Updater, Connection Manager, Devices Projection, Safety, Seat Status, Drive Mode, and My Mode in 2018-2021 GM vehicles.

  • Designed and maintained the GM iconography system for vehicles from 2020-2022, ensuring visual consistency and clarity.

  • Collaborated with cross-functional teams to align design specifications with development and quality assurance processes.
